EPIPHANY

PHOTOS FROM PIXABAY

Know you must leave the table,
When love is served no more.
When you hunger for affection,
Thirst for attention...
That bough you rested on,
Poised and asserted, has been broken.
Never to be mended again,
But your famished soul is reluctant.
How can you stay when the vessel is empty?
Permit dignity to win this battle.
Strength will creep in like a thief in the night,
Your love was never jealous; let life be.
You were meant to flourish,
May you never wither away waiting... yearning.
This table is bare as can be my friend,
Never come back here again.
Allow life's whirlwind to move you,
To a place where love is given freely.
Know you must leave the table,
When love is served no more.

GENTLE WOMAN

Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay

She danced in the moonlight,
Hoping daylight never came.
Transition in effect;
The wounds remain the same.
Though in its vivid light,
She suppressed cutting wounds.
Sadness erased from thoughts,
Battled shame with her might.
Abyss is not her home,
Cannot fall forever.
Life is her mystery -
A maze she'd rather roam.
Glaring light fill this place!
Dawn will surely efface...
She danced in the moonlight,
Hoping daylight never came.

MY PET IZZY

I HAD A LITTLE PET,
A LITTLE PET NAMED IZZY.
I'D WATCH HER MOVE, INCH BY INCH,
IT WOULD MAKE ME DIZZY.
I WOULD GIVE HER A FRUIT,
A FRUIT THAT'S RED AND SHINY.
SHE BORE SOME HOLES, ONE BY ONE,
STRONG ALTHOUGH SO TINY.
I MADE HER LITTLE HOME,
A LITTLE HOME THAT'S COSY.
ONE DAY I SAW, LEGS NO MORE,
WINGS TO FLY REAL MIGHTY.
WELL CAN YOU GUESS MY PET?
MY PET THAT ONCE WAS IZZY.
LOOK FOR CLUES, LINE BY LINE,
YOU'LL FIGURE OUT SURELY!
