HER CHRISTMAS WISH

Little Susie Rae,
Daydreams all day.
Of Santa Claus,
Coming on his sleigh.
She would like a pet,
And a drum set.
To play at night,
She likes noise I'll bet.
Little Susie Rae,
Hopes Christmas Day.
She gets her wish,
Wrote her list since May.

THE VISITOR

PHOTO FROM PIXABAY

Well there's a goat in my yard,
How can this be?
I'd expect a dog, a frog,
A small puppy.
He just stood and stared above,
In such dismay.
To pass for grass, alas! He
Passed the wrong way.
Can I flee to the neighbors?
So scared you see...
Well there's a goat in my yard.
Someone help me!

LITTLE PAL

BARNEY
BARNEY THE CAT WAS WAY TOO FAT,
BUT I FED HIM SO.
CHEDDAR CHEESE, IF YOU PLEASE,
EVEN COOKIE DOUGH.
BARNEY THE CAT WAS WAY TOO FAT,
BUT I CLOTHED HIM SO.
ON HIS CHEST, DONNED A VEST,
BARE HE DOES NOT KNOW.
BARNEY THE CAT WAS WAY TOO FAT,
BUT I SCARED HIM SO.
HE ESCAPES, ON MOM'S DRAPES,
HANGING VERY LOW.
BARNEY THE CAT WAS WAY TOO FAT,
BUT I LOVED HIM SO.
HUGS ALL TIGHT DAY AND NIGHT,
NEVER LETTING GO.

NO MORE WOODEN TOYS,
THE TRICYCLE MUST GO.
TODAY I'M SIX YEARS OLD,
TWO WHEELS FOR THE SHOW!

NO MORE BABY SONGS,
STOP RHYMING WITH A TEASE.
TODAY I'M SIX YEARS OLD,
WANT A LONG TIE PLEASE!

NO MORE BOOGEY MAN
BIG MONSTERS IN A CHAIN.
TODAY I'M SIX YEARS OLD,
BUY MY P-JAYS PLAIN!

NO MORE SIPPY CUPS,
THE DUCKIE PRINTS MUST HIDE.
TODAY I'M SIX YEARS OLD,
DOWN THE BIG BOY SLIDE!

RAYS OF GOLD…

SUNSHINE RAYS,
ARE JUST A TOUCH AWAY.
GOLDEN FLASH,
WILL BRIGHTEN ANY DAY.
WAY UP HIGH,
THE SKY IS YOURS TO RULE.
SCORCHING HEAT,
RETREAT MY FRIENDS, FOR COOL.

BREATHTAKING,
A DIAMOND IN THE CLOUD.
MAJESTIC,
AS IF IT SPEAKS ALOUD.
I WILL TOUCH,
THAT JEWEL UP ABOVE.
WITH FAVOR,
BUT MOST OF ALL WITH LOVE.

CHILDREN’S POEM

Let's go to the lollipop shop.
Lollipop shop,
Run or hop,
We won't stop.
A lot for a wonderful treat.
Can't be beat,
Tooth for sweet,
We shall eat.
Let's go to the lollipop shop,
'Cause that's the place to be!

Let's go to the lollipop shop.
lollipop shop,
Run or hop,
We won't stop.
Can choose from their varieties.
Shaped gummie,
Black cherry,
Rolled tootsie.
Let's go to the lollipop shop,
'Cause that's the place to be!

ROSY AND RED

POEM FOR KIDS

APPLE RED AND ROUND,
ROUND AND ROUND AND ROSY.
CUT INTO PIECES,
SWEET AND YET SO TASTY.
SERVED UP AS A SNACK,
ONE THAT'S VERY HEALTHY.
IF IT'S LEFT UNTOUCHED,
THEN REMAINS REAL SHINY.
FOR REASONS ABOVE,
I'LL SURELY ALWAYS LOVE.
APPLE RED AND ROUND,
ROUND AND ROUND AND ROSY.

LOST PUPPY

HAVE YOU SEEN MY PUPPY?
SHE'S MISSING HERE TONIGHT.
GUESS THE ROAR OF THUNDER,
GAVE HER A JOLTED FRIGHT!
HAVE YOU SEEN MY PUPPY?
HER FUR IS WHITE AS SNOW.
WITH BLACK DOTS LIKE COOKIES,
A TIP THAT YOU SHOULD KNOW.

HAVE YOU SEEN MY PUPPY?
SHE'S SMART AND CAN DO TRICKS.
JUMPS AND CAN ROLL OVER,
AND EVEN FETCH FOR STICKS.

ALAS! FOUND MY PUPPY!
SHE CAME BACK HOME TODAY.
DRENCHED IN THE FILTHY DIRT,
BUT GLAD SHE'S HERE TO STAY.
